Collect Documents
To collect electronic documents from the
ATO, you need to use the ECI Client software with an Internet
connection established. The ECI Client software ensures that
all ATO documents are encrypted before being sent to or from
the ATO. The encryption process provides you with the maximum
security currently available for Internet transactions.
You must have an active AUSkey to access your documents. You
will only be able to access documents you are authorised to send
and receive. Access permissions are set by administrator AUSkey holders
in Access manager. For more information refer to Access manager.
The ATO will place your documents on
its secure website ready for you to collect. Depending on
your business obligation, the ATO will make your documents available
to you either monthly or quarterly. You will be notified
by e-mail when your documents are available for collection.
To collect your documents
- Select In Tray from the Activity
Statements sub menu. Your In
Tray will be displayed.
- Click on the Get New Documents
button in the In Tray. If the
Business Document
List is unchecked in Settings and there is no active
AUSkey, the Connect to ATO dialog
box is displayed.

- Select the Organisation
Name and User Name identified
from your AUSkey. Type your Password
and click the OK button. A progress
meter is displayed while documents are downloading to your
computer.
Note: You may cancel the download at any
time if you wish. You will be able to collect the remainder
at a later time.
When all documents have been downloaded
a message will appear to tell you how many documents were
collected.
- Click the OK button
on the message box. Your new documents will now be displayed
in your In Tray in bold typeface with the
Status of New.
